Writing Assignment: People Around the World
Write a short reflection on your website on the topic of people around the world. You can focus on one of the topics of Age or Food. What do you think about AGE or FOOD? What do people in your culture think about Age/FOOD? What did you learn from the video or pictures about AGE/FOOD around the world (or in a particular culture)? How did you feel when you saw the video or looked at the images? (If you would like, you could look at one of the other art installations of Clayton and focus on another topic than AGE).
Week long Writing Assignment: Age or Food?
Option 1: Act Your Age.
One of our weekly writing assignment options will be to start an Age List Diary. In class today, the teacher will time you with the number of minutes of your age, and you will make a list of as many things as you can with you age number. On the top of your paper, you will write your Age. Then you will make lists of your age. Try to keep your lists focused on International Communication and the topics we have learned about People such as Age, Marriage, Food, Customs, Language, Perspectives, etc. For example, you could make a list of 18 songs I like or 18 Japanese customs, 18 expressions I learned in another language, or friends I have from 18 countries, etc. Post your 18 lists (Number of lists of your age) on your website AS a new BLOG Page with multiple updates, so classmates can comment on your Page. Here are some books and notebooks to give you ideas.

Option 2: You Are What You Eat.
Option 2 for the weekly writing assignment is to keep a Food Diary and become conscious of our food and food culture. The teacher will give you time in class to write down a list of all of the food you ate on Sunday and Today. You will write down the price, packaging, nutritional value and ingredients, location you bought the food, location it originated from. (You may have to do some research on the internet for the ingredients in English).
Every day and every meal, you will keep a log and write down the name of the food/drink, the price, the packaging, the nutritional value, the ingredients, and the location you bought the food and the origin of the food. Post your Food diary logs on your website AS a new BLOG Page Entries, so classmates can comment on your Page.
