CASE STUDY
In contrast to nations, multinationals are able to operate without borders in the modern global world. This means that not only are products available in the global marketplace, but also the corporations buy raw materials, produce their products, and sell these products in a variety of locations, often separated from each other. There are many corporations which operate around the world. The global marketplace allows corporations to take advantage of competing prices for raw materials and labour around the world. It also lets consumers choose from a variety of products and produces many different perspectives.
Before you start this next assignment#5 , let’s take a closer look at a corporation which is increasingly visible in Japan: Starbucks Coffee. Of course there are many other examples, but this one might be quite familiar to you.
